A Room with a View

My "A Room with a View" design came in second place over on the Eddie Izzard website in the fan gallery for the month of January. The illustration itself is based upon this Eddie Izzard bit about how Hollywood can take a well known movie in the UK and turn it into something almost unrecognizable in the US.

Litigator's Chew Toy

Litigator's Chew Toy

I was recently informed one of my illustrations over on iStock is featured prominently on the report "How Your Contracts Turn Your Business Into a Litigator's Chew Toy." The illustration used was my "Government Dog Agents" image which is still available over in my iStock portfolio.

Grout Attack

Tiles 1

When I moved into my house the bathroom tiles in the shower were in great shape, and very cool 1950s decorative design. The grout on the other hand was rust stained pretty badly and in some areas needed repaired. This is a pretty common issue when the grout sealant wears away over time.

There were also some issues with the caulk, where it appeared over the years people had added new layers of caulk on top of layers that had mold on it. So kind of a water proofed mold and mildew line of caulk that was very resistant to cleaning.

New Things Are Brewing

Artist at Work

I just made some changes to feeds and pushes to various areas on my two main websites to make my life a little easier. It's not going to cause anyone to change their views of reality or life in the universe as we know it.. but it will make it easier for me to synchronize my sites across the web. Now if Google+ can just get on-line with their APIs.

CampDoc Follow-up

Camp Doc Standup 1

Several months ago for a freelance job, I designed a doctor character for a group called CampDoc. I have seen the image in action on their website; but this is the first time I have seen the design in action in other ways they have used it. Including a 6 foot tall stand-up of the doctor. It is really fun for me to see my design for them out in the world, and some of the different ways it is being used.

Tomlinson's - Freelance

A couple months back I created a custom design for a pet supply chain down in Austin, TX called Tomlinson's. Here you can see the super hero pets that I created for their store. I didn't realize they were going to be as large of a part in the final design you see above; but I think they look great. And modesty is my best feature.

RedBubble Advertising

RedBubble Site Image

I was just informed my "Don't You Want a Hug!" creepy bear design was selected to be used as one of main site images on the visitor landing page starting September 19th... then a few second later someone purchased one of the the shirts over on the site. I guess advertising really does pay.

Coaching Wizard - Freelance

Coaching Wizard Icon

A few weeks back I was asked to create a character for a new iPhone application called Coaching Wizard. I was just informed the application is now available over in the Apple store. I was tasked to create the wizard you see holding the soccer ball in the icon and in the application itself. If you would like to read more about what the application can do, make sure you check out the official web for the product.

Chair Refinishing Project

Chair Finish 1

So to follow up on yesterday's post where I stripped down a second hand chair. Today we will see what I did with it after it was stripped. What you see above was how the chair looked after a few more hours of sanding, and a little bit of manual distressing of the wood.

News to Me

Washinton Post Tweet

Apparently one of my tweets was featured in a Washington Post Blog post by Elizabeth Flock. I didn't realize my tweets had such far reaching impact... grammar mistakes and all. *laughter*
