After building a shoe change bench for my Lady, I decided I needed a better way to store my daily wear shoes, and decided to build a bench with storage for myself.

As with most if not all of my projects we start with some gluing and some wood clamps.

Then a lot of shaping and finishing out the different pieces, including rounding over the edges, and some finish sanding.

Then it was time to glue up what would be used as the sides of the bench. These needed to be a bit more solid and stable.

Then it was time to start assembling the bench. For spacing I made sure my loafers could fit on the top shelf, and my boots could fit easily on the bottom shelf.

Once that was done it was time to start applying the finish. For this project I made sure to use a indoor/outdoor polyurethane so that it could stand up to snow and rain; and would keep it fairly weather proof even though it will be inside.
